      What is your favorite thing about your town?
      Richmond, VA has a perfect blend of history, culture, and natural beauty. I enjoy having access to the city’s vibrant art scene, amazing local restaurants and the opportunity to be part of Richmond’s rich history and growing future is incredibly fulfilling.
      What initially drew you to real estate?
      What first attracted me to real estate was the unfair treatment I experienced when I bought my first home on my own, without a realtor. I was steered toward a subprime loan that nearly cost me my home, and that experience sparked my passion to help others avoid similar situations.
      Why is relationship building so key to your success?
      Relationship building is key to success in real estate because trust and communication are essential in guiding clients through one of the most significant financial decisions of their lives. Strong relationships foster client loyalty, leading to referrals and repeat business, which are critical in a competitive industry. Additionally, positive relationships with other agents, lenders, and contractors can help streamline transactions and overcome challenges. Real estate is a people-driven business, and by building genuine connections, agents can better understand their clients’ needs and provide more personalized, effective service.
      How does your background/previous experience bring a unique perspective to your work?

Whether it’s a competitive seller’s market or a period of economic uncertainty, I stay informed on current trends, mortgage rates, and local data to offer the best options. By managing expectations and presenting multiple strategies—like pricing adjustments, flexible negotiation tactics, or creative financing solutions—I empower clients to make confident decisions.

      Can you share a success story where your personalized approach made a significant difference for a client?
      My client was struggling to find a duplex that met her needs. After an extensive search, I discovered a property listed as a single-family home but was actually a duplex. We scheduled a tour, and the property not only met but exceeded her expectations.

      My spouse and I had the pleasure of working with Tondra Devarel for our recent move from Florida to Richmond, and we could not have been more satisfied with her service. From the very beginning, Tondra was incredibly responsive and always available to answer any questions we had throughout the process, comforting when frustrations arose, and even doing in-depth research and consulting colleagues about unusual issues that came up. Her level of professionalism was exceptional, and she went above and beyond to ensure that everything was handled efficiently and effectively. She even acted as a sounding board and sympathetic ear when issues arose with the Florida side of the move. Tondra was very knowledgeable about neighborhoods and school districts, giving us many great houses to review from Florida. When we visited to view homes in person, Tondra had an excellent eye for detail, frequently spotting potential issues we would have missed while we toured the homes. What impressed me most about Tondra was her level of advocacy on my family’s behalf. She truly went the extra mile to ensure that our needs were met, and we felt that she was always looking out for our best interests. In the end, we were able to successfully complete our interstate move, and we know that it would not have been possible without Tondra's expertise and dedication.
      It is not possible to rate Tondra high enough. She patiently showed me homes throughout central Virginia until I found the one I wanted and successfully purchased it. Throughout the process I always felt she was looking out for my best interests.
      From beginning to end she was phenomenal! She also went above and beyond! I would highly recommend anyone to Tondra if they want their home buying process smooth easy. She is someone who is very knowledgeable and professional as she gets assignments done!

      I know the scale only goes to 10 but it should go to 100 in regards to Tondra. She’s the best Realtor I’ve ever had!!! She puts here clients first.
