Joan PeasleeQuestion & Answer
What is your favorite thing about Richmond?
I love Richmond’s architecture. It’s a beautiful mix of styles
that reflect the city’s nearly 300 years of history.
What initally drew you to real estate?
People say they love houses, but I really do. I’ve loved houses
since I was a kid. My mother would give me big sheets of
craft paper, and I’d sit on our front porch and draw our
neighbors’ houses.
Why is relationship building so key to your success?
I’ve always built relationships, but not just because I thought
it would make me more successful. Having an interest in
knowing who someone is and how I can help them comes
naturally to me. It’s who I am.
Tell us about any non-profit or community organizations.
I support Pixie’s Pen Pals in memory of my sister, Pixie,
who founded it. The organization places homeless dogs
in the care of men and women incarcerated in Virginia’s
correctional centers. It’s a great organization because dogs
allow the prisoners to reach a part of their souls they didn’t
know they had, and overly anxious dogs get a forever home.
What is your mission statement?
To make all things beautiful.
