Jennifer grew up in Richmond and attended Collegiate School and Randolph Macon Woman's College. After graduating college she pursued her love of the outdoors and moved to Jackson Hole, WY. She returned back to Richmond after spending two years out west and gained experience in Human Resources and Sales with Adecco Personnel. She later took a job at Collegiate School in the Alumni & Development office as the Capital Campaign Manager. Jennifer took a hiatus from her career to raise four children and she is excited to be back in the workforce as a Realtor with Shaheen, Ruth, Martin & Fonville.

What is your favorite thing about Richmond?

Richmond has been home to me for almost 50 years. I was born and raised here and I love all that Richmond has to offer. While I choose to live outside of the city in the County of Goochland, there are many gorgeous areas from Downtown and the fan district to Chesterfield and Midlothian that makes Richmond so unique and special for families. I love the beauty, the community, the quality of life, and the rich history that truly sets this city apart from any other.

What initially drew you to real estate?

When my husband Scott Ruth and his business partners Scott Shaheen, John Martin and Mahood Fonville decided to start their own firm, SRMF Real Estate, I felt the need to become a licensed Real Estate agent to gain knowledge of the business and support our company and its growth. I really enjoy working one on one with our clients and supporting them with advice on getting their home market ready.

How does your background bring a unique perspective to your work?

In college, I minored in studio art with the possibility of getting into interior design, however I never really pursued that dream. Instead I have been given the opportunity to use my eye for interior design to stage homes in Real Estate. While I am a licensed Real Estate Agent, I primarily work together with my husband, Scott Ruth and Scott and Paige Shaheen and their clients to stage and prepare homes to hit the market. I enjoy working closely with clients making recommendations, preparing and staging their home to be aesthetically pleasing to ALL potential buyers.

How do you give back to the community?

I am very involved at Collegiate school where I am an alum and current Parents’ Association member, I am active in our church St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Goochland and FOCUS a fellowship of Christians in schools in Richmond where I volunteer on the parent engagement committee.
