Of note, the new Virginia Capital Trail, is a dedicated, paved pedestrian and bicycle trail that connects the Commonwealth’s past and present capitals of Jamestown and Richmond along the Scenic Route 5 corridor. The Trail traverses approximately 52 miles, four jurisdictions, and more than 400 years of history along one of the first inland routes in North America. Ranging between eight and ten feet wide, the Capital Trail accommodates all modes of non-motorized transportation. Henrico County has a large selection of dining and shopping venues in every corner of the county. New urban mixed-use developments in the east and west ends supplement our large array of shopping centers. Short Pump Town Center has become a very popular shopping destination with every retailer you can imagine, but if you prefer a more intimate shopping experience try the quaint shops on Lakeside Avenue or the upscale River Road Shopping Center. Each of these shopping experiences brings a new, exciting flare to the traditional shopping experience.
