With a population of around 22,000, Goochland County was formed in 1727 from Henrico County. Today, it’s a huge draw for those who want to live in a low-key but scenic environment.
Located in the Greater Richmond region’s western edge, the county has a small town atmosphere and rustic charm that makes it a wonderful place to raise a family. Niche.com gives it high marks for education, housing, and diversity based on public data sets.
But what truly sets Goochland County apart is the range of recreational activities it offers – dining, shopping, hiking, biking, and tubing down the James River are just some of the things to do here.
